The project covers a full sterilization automation solution, expanding from a single line to nine production lines (speed of 160 pouches/min). It creates a pouch wet food processing plant that combines intelligence and high safety standards.
The Challenge
Our client is a well known Russian pet food manufacturer with a long history. To boost production capacity and reduce labor dependency, they decided to use more automated production lines. The client required full automation of the production line, along with a centralized and user-friendly control system. Additionally, they placed great importance on enhancing operator safety during the manufacturing process. Based on these requirements, the primary challenge was to design a highly advanced sterilization system tailored for pouch wet food.
The Solution
DTS provided a central monitoring system to meet the client's request for easy full line control. Using DTS’s proprietary control technology, it enables centralized control and monitoring of all operation units (including conveyors, tray stackers, robots, tray flippers, RGV carts, sterilizers, safety doors, etc.).
Operators can monitor and control the entire sterilization line in real time through the central system without entering the production area. The system includes fault alerts and remote diagnostics. If something goes wrong, it gives timely alarms and pinpoints the issue (showing location and reason code), greatly reducing downtime and improving efficiency. An advanced safety module ensures every action follows safety standards and protects operators.
Extra Safety Design by DTS
To make the production safer, DTS added full range protection features:
•Physical Isolation: Safety doors and guardrails strictly separate equipment areas.
•Safe Operation Platform: Sterilizers come with dedicated platforms so operators can work without entering the production line.
•Safety Interlock: The central monitoring system controls the status of safety doors. During operation, doors lock automatically. If opened improperly, the system immediately stops all equipment in that area to protect personnel.
